Thank you to everyone who came out to the Friends Used Book Sale in June. Because of you and your love of books (and homemade treats), we grossed over $30K, with minimal expenses!
This is the largest fundraiser to support the Library, and it helps support programs, materials, and services that benefit everyone. These earnings make it possible to offer more opportunities and keep the library a vibrant, welcoming space. Every bit truly adds up, and we’re so grateful for the ongoing support from our community!
Thank you to everyone who donated books – without your donations we couldn’t have a sale!
And WOW … what a book sale we had! There are so many people to thank for our success. If you …
- Donated books during the past year
- Came to the book sale and bought anything
- Sorted the donated books
- Volunteered in any way
- Baked and donated items to our bake sale
- Told a friend about the sale …
… we thank you! Special thanks to Lora Jones and Diane Rice, who once again led the event. Year after year our sale customers tell us that this is their favorite book sale and that is due to the organization and hard work Lora and Diane put into the sale. Thank you!
Putting together a used book sale takes a lot of behind-the-scenes effort! From sorting and organizing book donations to setting up tables and signs, it’s a true team effort that starts well before the first shopper arrives. Volunteers work hard to make everything inviting to the public and easy to browse, so the whole community can enjoy searching for great reads, and sometimes cool literary treasures. A big thank you to our amazing volunteers whose time and dedication make this event possible—we couldn’t do it without you – Mount Joy Lions, Mount Joy Rotary, Donegal Key Club, Donegal Performing Arts, Boy Scout Troop 39, and various Friends and other volunteers.
And thank you to the Donegal School District for letting us use this amazing space!
