It’s not goodbye… it’s just “see you around the library!”
We recently said farewell to our friend and coworker Laura Bear (pictured with Miss Katelyn and Miss Alyssa), who is retiring from her position as our Program Outreach Coordinator.
Laura’s library journey actually began long before she joined our staff. A retired teacher, she first shared her time and talents as a Library Volunteer and member of our Friends Group. Then, when Miss Jan retired last summer, Laura graciously stepped in to help Alyssa and Katelyn build and grow our Children’s Department. What started as lending a hand quickly turned into an invaluable role on our team.
Organized and decisive, supportive and adaptable, creative and resourceful, and with a great sense of humor, Laura always seemed to have a great idea ready when needed.
While we’re sad to see her leave the staff, we’re excited for Laura as she begins this new chapter. The good news? She’s not going far! Laura will continue sharing her enthusiasm, creativity, and community spirit as a member of the Library’s Friends Group.
Thank you, Laura, for everything you’ve done for the library, our staff, and the families we serve. We’ll miss seeing you around the office every day, but we know you’ll still be cheering us on.
Congratulations on your retirement, Laura. Enjoy every minute… you’ve earned it!
