The Friends of Public Libraries of Lancaster County are thrilled to welcome New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Marie Benedict to Lancaster on April 16 for an illuminating conversation about her newest novel, Daughter of Egypt. The story brings together two extraordinary women separated by millennia through adventure, intrigue, and hidden histories that reshaped the world.
Marie Benedict brings a remarkable background to her writing. A lawyer with more than a decade of experience as a litigator at two of the nation’s premier law firms, she ultimately discovered a new calling: unearthing the hidden histories of extraordinary women. Through her novels, Benedict is on a mission to excavate important, complex, and fascinating women of the past and bring them into the light, revealing both the magnitude of their contributions and the powerful insights they offer for our modern world.
